3 Things to do NOW to Prep Your Vehicle for Spring

Thankfully, spring is just around the corner. We know winter is tough on the surface of our vehicles — salt, sand and other de-icers really take their tole, as well as cooler temperatures dulling rubber and plastic trim. So give your vehicle a little TLC to get them fresh and shiny for Spring.

1. Deep clean the exterior of your vehicle.
If you live anywhere that gets snow or ice buildup on the roads — you know all too well the damage that can be done to your vehicle’s body, wheels, and even your frame. Gently remove these surface irritants with a foaming soap and a microfiber cloth. This is also a great thing to do for any motorcycles or boat trailers that have been on the road or even in storage during the winter months. Easily maintain this clean with Ceramic Waterless Carwash.

2. Refresh your tires!
Dull and grey tires are almost a guarantee at the end of winter. It could be a good time to replace or swap to warmer climate tires as the season warms up. If you’re happy with your tire choice — freshen them up with an enriching tire gel to moisturize the material and bring them back to life in time for spring!

3. Protect your vehicle.
When the season changes it’s time to assess your coating needs. Are you due for a full nano-ceramic coating? Or with touch-ups with a spray ceramic sealant do the job? It’s important to ensure you’re maintaining a quality surface protectant with UV to keep your paint bright and bold.

We’re sure looking forward to the change of the season — it’s the time of year where so many classics get out of the garage and decorate the streets! For more information and products for your vehicle check out our full line of products.

Creative Ways to Use Ceramic Coatings

When someone hears “ceramic coating” their thoughts immediately go to cars, trucks, maybe even airplanes. While The Avenger two-part activated ceramic coating is perfect for those uses, there are other creative ways people have used Avenger Kit.
Dirt Bikes and Mountain Bikes
Bikers kick up mud, dust and debris out on the trail and bring it home on the surface of their bikes and in their wheels. A clever John’s 360° Coatings customer, who happens to be a pro racer in the US, coated their bike in The Avenger to maintain the integrity and look of the bike. Dust, dirt and anything else just rinses off after each intense ride.

Jet Skis
We already know The Avenger is great on boats — but we can’t forget other toys we use out on the water. Anything on the water is subject to harsh UV damage and sun bleaching. Keep your ski bright and keep water spots at bay when you ceramic coat it with The Avenger

Snowmobiles
Just like jet skis on the water, snow reflects harmful UV rays at your snowmobile. Keep it slick, and clean with a ceramic coating. Dirty snow and grime will slide right off. The surface will better resist scratches and paint destruction from rogue sticks or ice chunks that hit the sled when you’re out on a ride.

Shower Walls
This is a new one… A creative John’s 360° Coatings user thought to take The Avenger out of the garage and put it to work in the bathroom. To keep water spots, mildew, and hard water build-up at bay in the shower, this user applied The Avenger to their shower walls, shower head and faucets. Water runs off much easier and they don’t have to scrub to clean their shower every couple of weeks.

WARNING: Please do not apply The Avenger or any John’s 360° Coatings products to your shower floor. They’re way too good a making surfaces shiny, smooth and slick — and slippery.

Campers, Trailers and RVs
Polished airstreams are striking when you see them coming down the road. But when they are dirty, foggy and scuffed-up they just don’t seem as great. Keep things slick and shiny when you coat your trailer in The Avenger. We also know how difficult and time-consuming it is to clean the exterior of campers and RVs — keep cleaning time to a minimum when you have it ceramic coated. Dirt and dust just rinse right off.

Grills and smokers
The exterior of our grills always get ignored. Keep them looking new season after season when you coat them in The Avenger. The coating is heat resistant and repels oil and grease with ease.

Toolboxes
Guilty of having a scuffed up, or dirty toolbox in the garage? Get it cleaned up and coat it in The Avenger. Prevent those scuffs and scratches that previously seemed inevitable when using and storing tools. Dirt and dust easily wipe right off so your garage setup is always looking 100%.

Gym equipment
This is another creative idea. Most gym equipment is powder coated — but these scratch and chip away pretty easily. Once a chip has started it seems like the entire dumbbell or barbell is exposed in just a few uses. Protect the paint and powder coating on all of your equipment with The Avenger. Keep your home gym looking newer longer.

Why should you invest in multi-surface products?

If you’ve spent any time in the autobody or aircraft detailing industry, you know how fast your list of to-do’s on one vehicle can add up. While every vehicle is unique and requires its own care plan — and even specialty products for maintenance — you can still do one thing to streamline the process. Find and use multi-surface products.

Here are the top three reasons you should invest in multi-surface products:

Cost-effective
The more products you add to your detailing kit the bigger the price tag. Tire cleaner and conditioner, window cleaner and water-resistant sealant, painted cleaner and sealants, carbon-fiber friendly degreasers and conditioners — the list goes on and the costs add up.

Multi-purpose and multi-surface products like Waterless Carwash, Super Blue Speed Coat and The Avenger can bring that list down to just a few products that you can use on your entire vehicle. So you can get more value out of each product you use — in addition to saving time.

More efficient
Multi-surface products help you get the job done faster — saving you time. Without having to switch between products or needing to wait-out curing times for sealants on different materials, you can get more done at once.
Ceramic coatings traditionally had been exclusive to one type of surface. Matte, painted and polished each required their own formula with their own application and curing period.

The Avenger was formulated with efficiency and effectiveness in mind. This nano-ceramic coating can be used on all finish types so that the vehicle be completed in one application and curing period.

Fewer mistakes
When a product can be used on the entire vehicle you can worry less. You don’t have to stress about getting Super Blue Speed Coat on leather seats when you’re detailing the interior dash — because it protects leather too. Waterless Car Wash won’t leave streaks on your windows because it is made to clean the entire car — not just the painted body.

Multi-surface products let you work with ease and peace-of-mind making the entire process more enjoyable and satisfying.

The ONE Thing Your Vehicle Needs to Look Good — Longer

We all know how special it feels to get in a brand new, or new-to-you, vehicle. The new car smell, shiny exterior and the open road of opportunity all put a smile on your face.

Then reality hits — with each mile, starting with the first one off the lot, your vehicle depreciates in market value. It is also at greater risk for damage to its appearance. But there is a way to hack the system, and rescue your vehicle’s value — The Avenger.

The Avenger two part activated ceramic coating is the ONE thing you need to apply to your vehicle as soon as you can. With it, your vehicle is protected from acidic bugs, harsh chemicals, weathering, UV bleaching and more.  Here is what you need to do:

Ask your dealership, or local body shop to apply The Avenger to your vehicle
This isn’t an unusual request for dealerships and body shops. In fact, it shows how serious you are about your purchase. Be sure to specifically ask for the Johns 360º Coatings Avenger because:

  • It lasts 2-3X longer than competing ceramic coatings
  • It is 2X stronger than competing ceramic coatings
  • It is made right here in the USA with formulations you can trust
  • It protects all finishes — matte, glossy, plastic or metal

PLUS: All orders from John’s 360º Coatings ship within 24 hours of the order being placed. So you won’t need to wait weeks to pick up your finished vehicle.

If you didn’t get your vehicle from a dealership, and you don’t want to have your local body shop apply the coating — don’t worry. The Avenger is easy to DIY.

Order The Avenger kit to your home and apply it yourself
The Avenger is a professional grade ceramic coating, that has been formulated in a way that doesn’t require an expert to apply. Place your order for The Avenger on our website, and follow John’s step-by-step instructions for application.

Call the team with any questions. You can even connect with John himself to troubleshoot any unique application questions about your vehicle.

Keep your vehicle looking the way it did the day you drove it home.

At-Home Car Care Routine

Most of us follow a maintenance schedule for our vehicles, but why do we often let the aesthetic and body care of our vehicles fall to the wayside? If you have a vehicle — in any condition — taking care of the body and interior will help keep your car functioning properly and enhance your experience while using it.

As a general rule of thumb, you should wash your daily-driver about every two weeks. It might seem like running through a touchless carwash is the easy solution. But unfortunately, popular automated carwashes aren’t personalized enough to get the job done right. Servicing cars that range from a Volkswagen Beetle to a half-ton Duramax in size and shape — leaves out a lot of important details.

Save money and do it better at home!

Clean From the Inside Out
One big miss of an automated carwash is the interior of your car — the area of the car you spend the most time looking at. Take the following steps to clean and protect your interior.

  1. Clear out any clutter or garbage that has been left in your vehicle.
  2. Vacuum floor mats, carpet and any fabric seats — don’t forget the trunk!
  3. Clean and protect your dash and hard interior surfaces with Super Blue Speed Coat for long-lasting protection against harmful UV rays, dust and dirt.
  4. Apply a layer of Textile and Leather Guard to your seats and seatbelts for liquid repelling protection against spills and stains.

Shine Up the Exterior
The exterior of your vehicle undoubtedly takes on the most wear and tear. Harsh weather and chemicals, bleaching UV rays, bugs and dirt all take their toll. Reverse the damages with these steps.

  1. If you’ve been caring for your vehicle on a regular schedule, and it’s not too coated in dirt just spray down the exterior of your vehicle with Mint Ceramic Waterless Carwash. Yes — waterless. Rub the product in and wipe away excess product and grime.
  2. Follow up with our Clay Mitt and a coating of Super Blue Speed Coat for a sleek and protected finish.
  3. Finish off the wash with a layer of Orange “No-Sling” Tire Gel on all four tires to add a rich, dark color back to your tires while protecting them from bleaching UV rays.

Vehicle excessively dirty? Suds it up from roof to rims with a concentrated foaming soap like Concentrated XP and water to gently lift away dirt. Rinse then follow steps 2 and 3.

Formulating and Donating Over 70 Gallons of Hand Sanitizer

At Johns 360 Coatings we believe we all have a part in the battle against this COVID-19 pandemic. Because the need is dire, our family-run company is shifting its focus to formulate and distribute hand sanitizer to local hospitals in Mississippi.

We started by making a test batch of just 6 gallons of hand sanitizer and gave it to our employees and donated it to doctors.  Since there’s a critical shortage of hand sanitizer from suppliers for our local hospitals, we decided to ramp things up. We’re on track to produce an additional 70 gallons of sanitizer this month which we will donate directly to local hospitals that are running low.

Everyone needs to pitch in right now to support healthcare workers and our communities in any way you can. For some its sewing masks or donating meals for children who can’t get school lunch. For others, it’s buying e-gift cards to local shops you want to see open at the end of this or sharing positive thoughts and prayers. Most importantly though, everyone needs to stay home unless they are doing essential work to provide our country with necessary supplies and services. Our health and our economy are at stake. Until a cure is available, we will soldier on.

Winter Car Care Tips

It’s cooling down around the country and for many states, the next few months will be cold, snowy and messy. You may find it difficult to maintain your vehicle’s integrity and shine through the winter months — but we have some tips to help keep wheels turning all winter long.

  1. In areas where temps fall below zero, keep your gas tank at least half-full at all times. This will not only protect you from the cold in case of an emergency, but it can be less taxing on your cold vehicle to run on a fuller tank.
  2. Protect your vehicle from salt, ash and harsh chemicals used to de-ice the roads. A nano-ceramic coating like our Avenger kit will provide years of defense at an affordable price. This product will also keep your paint bright and shiny in the dull winter snow.
  3. Monitor and maintain your wheels and tires. You want to ensure tire pressure is correct as air pressure fluctuates in the cool temps. You’ll also want to use Super Blue Speed Coat to keep the road salt from rusting out your wheels.
  4. Remember to never use your windshield wipers to remove ice and snow. Instead, lift them away from the windshield and de-ice both your windshield and wipers separately. This will contribute to the longevity of your wipers.
  5. Keep the interior of your vehicle clean with our Textile & Leather Guard. Use it to repel slush and snow that can be drug into your vehicle over the winter. It also provides some leather conditioning — which helps fight against stiff, cold leather seats.

Stay safe. Stay warm — and keep your vehicle protected with the right products and practices this winter!

The SEMA Show 2019

Last week, we had the pleasure of participating in The SEMA Show. This show brings automotive industry leaders and the hottest products to one BIG event.

At the show, Burls Hypnotic Customs joined us in our booth as we featured their 1966 Lincoln Continental Restomod. The Lincoln has been coated in The Avenger and will be easily maintained for years with our Super Blue Speed Coat spray ceramic coating. We also visited with industry experts, demonstrated our products, and soaked up all of the automotive excitement and innovation in the air at SEMA.

Those in attendance got to experience educational seminars, product demos, special events and more. If you didn’t make it to the event, you can still enjoy all the hype with Motor Trend TV’s SEMA Special in December — keep an eye out for John’s interview!

NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series

Saturday, October 12th, the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series took place at the Talladega Superspeedway. Truck driver and Naval Lieutenant, Jesse Iwuji, with Reaume Brothers Racing joined up with John’s 360 Coatings to honor the Tuskegee Airmen with truck #34.

The truck’s design featured the signature red tails found on Tuskegee fighter airplanes in World War II. The Tuskegee-trained pilots are incredibly skilled and brave — there is no better fit to drive truck #34 than Jesse Iwuji.

As an active Lieutenant in the United States Navy Reserve, Jesse Iwuji has proven his love for his country and his fighting spirit time and time again. It is important to Jesse to continue to serve and honor his country while he pursues his racing passions. Along with his many accomplishments on the track, Jesse has also received the honor of the NASCAR Diverse Driver of the Year Award twice.

The John’s 360º Coatings crew had the pleasure of working with Reaume Brothers and Jesse to design the truck’s red tail and of course coated the vehicle in Super Blue Speed Coat spray ceramic coating for a sleek finish that protects the vehicle’s surface in the high-intensity environment of the track.

Jesse and the Reaume Brother’s team had a clean, top 20 P19 finish at the race in Talladega with #34. John’s 360º Coatings is proud to sponsor such a hardworking and talented crew, that continues to honor this country.
